Testosterone is the main male sex hormone. It supports muscle, bone, mood, energy and sex drive. Levels naturally decline slowly with age.
Lifestyle factors
Poor sleep, obesity, heavy alcohol use and chronic stress can lower levels. Regular exercise (including strength training), 7-9 hours of sleep and a healthy weight help keep levels normal.
Boosters
Most over-the-counter “boosters” are not proven. Steroids carry serious risks (infertility, heart and liver problems). If you suspect low testosterone, get a blood test and see a doctor.
